At Clearbody, we believe that true healing goes beyond treating symptoms—it’s about restoring balance to both body and mind. Founded by Dr. Maryam Javanbakht, a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over two decades of experience, Clearbody blends advanced therapeutic techniques with a gentle, holistic approach. Maryam’s work, including years at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, focuses on empowering the body’s natural ability to heal without the need for aggressive or painful treatments. Through Clearbody, clients experience a calming and restorative path to recovery, with therapies designed to address everything from chronic pain to cancer rehabilitation.

 

Meet The Founder

 

Maryam received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Northern Arizona University and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. She worked at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in their Outpatient Orthopedic Department for 10 Years, where she focused her attention on Cancer related rehabilitation, Lymphedema Management, and general Orthopedics.

Following her time at Cedars Sinai, Maryam worked in Orange County, California where she further expanded her knowledge of integrative Physical Therapy and innovative treatments for TMJ related issues. Maryam currently resides in Orange County with her family, but misses the energy of her hometown, Los Angeles, so she splits her professional time between the two regions.

Maryam’s professional philosophy is one of respect for her clients’ bodies. She does not attest to the old adage of “ no pain, no gain” when it comes to healing the body. She believes that aggressive or painful stimuli to the body can elicit a guarding response, reducing the therapeutic benefits of the treatment.  The mind’s ability to achieve a restful state is an important element to healing. Maryam encourages individuals that believe they can only get relief from deep painful message, to try out the gentle calming Clearbody method and experience the healing benefits without the pain response
